Bids and Tenders
BMA CoalBMA Coal is a J/V between BHP and Mitsubishi operating Coalmines in QLD.
OWC was engaged to design and implement a process to select an Alliance Partner to manage the scheduled and unscheduled shutdowns of the Dragline Excavators over a five year term.
OWC coached the BMA team to prepare the tender documentation and used the 0to10RM® tools and processes to prepare the BMA client team and documentation for the interview and workshop selection phase to select a preferred proponent which was facilitated by OWG.
OWG also advised on the preparation of the Commercial Framework and Alliance Agreement.
Kerr Partnering and Gosford City Council
OWC was engaged by the Lead Advisor (www.kerrpartnering.com.au) to Gosford City Council for their major Urban Regeneration Project (www.thegosfordchallenge.com.au).
Similar to TCI, OWC initially worked to assemble all Public sector landowners into a Strategic Partnering arrangement using Investment Logic Maps and the 0 to 10RM® framework.
OWC prepared business cases for Council and NSW Lands and Property Management Authority approval of the budget to create the team and implement the procurement process to select the preferred design partner to work with the Community and Landowners to create the Masterplan for the future development of Gosford City and Waterfront.
OWC continued to work with the Lead Advisor supporting the process until completion of the Masterplan and the Commercial Implementation Plan.
Moreland City Council
Moreland City Council embarked on a major Urban Regeneration initiative called The Coburg Initiative (www.thecoburginitiative.com.au).
OWC was initially engaged to undertake the preparation of Investment Logic Maps for elements of this initiative and to prepare a Strategic Assessment to support the procurement stage.
OWC then supported Council and its Lead Advisor to design and implement an interactive Strategic Partner workshop selection process culminating in a Strategic Partnering Agreement with the preferred Proponent. This included building the core competency of the Council Team in Strategic Partnering using the Tony Lendrum 0 to 10 Relationship Management Framework (www.0to10rm.com).
OWC was subsequently engaged to prepare the Business Case and Financial Models for The Coburg Initiative Programme and the first Catalyst Project
Transitions and Mobilisations
Brisbane Water used the experience within OWG to assist it with the project management of a review of current business and operational practices. The outcome of this was a business case and implementation plan to improve outcomes over an 18 month period.
During the extended drought in Queensland, the State Government thought it prudent to construct a desalination plant and called tenders from organisations to project manage the delivery process. OWG’s experience includes the project management of one of the consortiums preparing submissions that included Brisbane Water.
Harness Racing VictoriaOWG led the development of the Business Case to get government approval to proceed with the $40m+ Melton Harness Racing and Entertainment complex project
OWG assisted with the tender processes to secure debt financing and with the selection of the Construction Project Manager
Following Construction OWG was engaged to develop and lead a mobilisation plan to create the new organisation of 70 people currently operating and maintaining the facility including recruitment of management and staff and preparation of the business management plan.
The Facility opened for business on Schedule and has been operating successfully since March 2009
OWG was subsequently engaged to work with the HRV Board to develop a five year strategic business plan.
OWG was engaged to program manage and assist with the preparation of a business plan to implement a new alliance contract with Zinfra’s (Previously Jemena) prime customer United Energy valued at circa $500m over 5 years and operating in a regulatory environment
OWG was subsequently engaged to plan and assist with the management of the transition from the old to new contract arrangements to the of the new contract encompassing the change program for culture, process, 400 people, strategy and structure.
Resourcing and Business Improvement
ElectraNetOWG was engaged by ElectraNet (www.electranet.com.au) to review and report on the existing contract arrangements with its two key major service suppliers. ElectraNet were looking to renew contracts with its two main service providers in an environment of an expanding works program and increasingly scarce resources across the country.
Interviews and workshops based on the the 0-10RM© framework developed by Tony Lendrum were used to determine the current and future state for the relationships and the most appropriate commercial framework for the new circumstances. Participants included the client the two service providers facilitated by OWG.
OWG was engaged by the Programmed Group to support them in preparing their Request For Proposal Response for a Major Water Industry Alliance Contract in WA.
OWG was subsequently engaged to Coach the Senior Management team using the 0to10RM® Framework to prepare them for the short-listing interview and subsequent selection workshops.
The scope including the development of an illustrated storyboard in lieu of a power-point presentation to communicate the key messages of Programmed’s Proposal.
OWC was engaged by United Group to coach and support them in their bid for a Facilities Maintenance Alliance Contract with Shell.
OWG used the 0to10RM® Framework to coach the United Group Team in preparation for the Alliance Selection short-listing Interview and subsequent Workshops
